Air Filtration Requirements Across Food Processing Areas

A food production site can contain very different air-handling tasks. Raw-material handling, processing, packaging and storage do not necessarily have the same conditions or exposure concerns. A useful filter enquiry starts with the specific area rather than treating the whole facility as one application.

Describe what happens in the area

Identify the activity and whether product is exposed during that stage. Record the source of incoming air and the equipment serving the area. Include the filtration requirements already established by the site’s responsible team.

The filter supplier needs the equipment specification and operating conditions; the name of the food product alone is not a complete filtration requirement.

Separate ventilation from process extraction

A filter in an air-handling unit treats a different air stream from a filter collecting dust at a powder transfer point. Describe which task the requested product performs. Where both systems are present, create separate enquiries so that their requirements are not mixed.

CINRIWA’s bag filters and dust filter cartridges belong to different product groups that should be considered in their respective equipment contexts.

Record moisture and cleaning conditions

Include expected humidity, condensation and any possibility of direct water exposure. Explain whether cleaning operations occur near the installation and whether the filter is removed or protected during those operations.

A metal frame does not establish that the complete filter can withstand washdown. The media, seals and other components also need to suit the agreed conditions.

Follow the requirement for sensitive areas

Where a specified final filtration stage is required, provide the full classification and installation details. HEPA filter configurations can then be reviewed against that requirement. Selecting a filter alone does not establish the hygiene performance of the complete room or production process.

Prepare one record per installation

List location, product exposure, filter type, dimensions, airflow and quantity for each unit. Add the relevant drawings and site requirements, then share the records with CINRIWA for a focused product discussion.
