Humidity, Condensation and Water Exposure: What to Tell Your Filter Supplier

A filter installed in humid air does not necessarily experience the same conditions as one exposed to water droplets. Condensation, rain carryover and nearby washing can create different demands. Describing the actual exposure helps avoid choosing a product on the basis of a vague ‘wet environment’ label.

Explain when and where moisture appears

Record whether moisture is present continuously or only during certain operations or weather conditions. Note whether liquid is visible on the filter, housing or nearby surfaces. Provide the location of the installation and any relevant equipment observations.

If operating temperature and humidity records are available, include them. Photographs can document visible wetting, but they do not replace the operating information.

Review the complete construction

Paperboard and metal frames present different construction choices, but frame material is only part of the assessment. Filter media, bonding materials and seals also need to be considered. Do not interpret a metal frame as a general promise of waterproof or washable construction.

CINRIWA offers cardboard pleated panels and ambient-temperature metal-frame options. Their suitability should be reviewed for the described installation.

Look beyond the replacement element

If water is reaching the filter unexpectedly, record the circumstances and have the responsible maintenance team review the source. Changing the filter material alone may not resolve an issue with drainage, water entry or equipment operation.

A system designed for droplet separation has a different task from an ordinary ventilation filter. Our metal mesh air-liquid separator is a separate product category, not an automatic addition to every damp installation.

Make the enquiry precise

State whether the requirement concerns humid air, intermittent droplets or direct washing. Include the current model, dimensions, mounting details and any observed damage. Avoid adopting temperature or humidity limits from a different configuration.

Contact CINRIWA with the conditions at the filter position so the frame and media options can be considered together.
