High-Temperature Filtration: Check the Whole Filter Assembly

A heat-resistant filter material is only one part of a filter assembly. Frames, separators, bonding materials and seals also operate in the same environment. Choosing a product for a heated process therefore requires more than identifying the fibre used in the media.

Describe the temperature cycle

Provide the normal operating temperature and explain any higher-temperature periods during start-up, cleaning or another process step. Include the duration and frequency of those periods when known. A continuous operating requirement and a brief exposure are different conditions.

Use the temperature at the filter location where available. A heater setting or a reading elsewhere in the equipment may not describe the conditions that the filter experiences.

Review all components together

Confirm the frame construction, sealing method and mounting arrangement as part of the specification. Do not carry a media temperature value across to a complete assembly without confirmation. The relevant limit is the limit agreed for the actual product configuration.

CINRIWA’s high-temperature filter panels and high-temperature separator HEPA filters address different filtering requirements. The process specification determines which type should be reviewed.

Include changes in operating conditions

Mention heating and cooling cycles, moisture, process gases and any cleaning exposure. These details help explain the intended duty. A filter suitable for one heated application should not be assumed suitable for another simply because both use the term ‘high temperature’.

If the equipment requires a particular preparation or installation procedure, include that requirement with the order. Follow the instructions supplied for the selected assembly.

Keep material and finished-filter enquiries separate

If you need fiberglass felt for conversion, state that you are purchasing media and describe the intended construction. Material availability does not by itself establish the performance of the finished filter made from it.

Send the operating cycle and installation specification to CINRIWA so the complete requirement can be reviewed before a configuration is agreed.
