Some air-handling systems use more than one filtration stage. Each stage has a role within the system, and replacing one element should take the rest of the installation into account. The number and type of stages depend on the application and equipment design.
Start with the system arrangement
Identify the airflow direction and record the filters in their installed order. Note the type, dimensions and specification at each position. This gives a clearer starting point than a request for a filter described only as ‘high efficiency’.
An upstream pre-filter captures part of the incoming particle load before air reaches subsequent stages. This does not establish a fixed extension to the life of the downstream filter; actual loading depends on the operating conditions.
Choose the pre-filter for its location
Panel pre-filters need to suit the mounting slot, operating conditions and specified performance. CINRIWA’s cardboard pleated panels and metal-frame alternatives provide different construction choices. Confirm the required type rather than selecting purely by outside dimensions.
Allow space for the intermediate stage
Bag and compact configurations arrange their media differently. A bag filter needs suitable downstream clearance, while a V-bank filter has a rigid construction to accommodate. Check both the mounting interface and the available envelope.
Treat the final stage as a complete specification
Where HEPA filtration is required, confirm the grade, construction, frame and seal. Our mini-pleat HEPA / ULPA range is one starting point for reviewing these choices. The required final-stage product comes from the application specification, not simply from choosing the highest grade listed.
Review changes across the system
Changing the grade or construction at one stage can alter resistance and maintenance needs. Review proposed changes with the responsible system designer or maintenance team. Do not assume that upgrading an individual element makes the complete installation suitable for a different application.
For an enquiry, send CINRIWA a record of all installed stages, operating airflow and the position being replaced. Include the equipment drawing when available, and describe the result you need so the replacement can be discussed in context.
