Synthetic fibre and fiberglass appear across several air-filtration product families. Their names identify material types, but they do not describe the complete performance of a finished filter. Media structure, product construction and the intended duty also matter.
Start with the finished product
Compare the actual product configuration, including its stated classification, dimensions and operating data. Two filters made from the same broad material family can be designed for different tasks.
CINRIWA’s cardboard pleated panel filter uses synthetic fibre, while our cardboard fiberglass panel filter represents a separate construction. Review their listed specifications individually rather than assuming one can replace the other.
Look at how the media is arranged
Fibres can be formed into different structures and incorporated into panels, pockets or other configurations. Pleating, supporting layers and the way the media is retained influence the finished assembly.
The media name does not tell you the available filtering area or the resistance at your airflow. Use the relevant product data instead of inferring those values from texture or appearance.
Do not rank every product by material alone
A blanket statement that one material is always better ignores the intended application. Assess the filtration requirement, operating environment and mounting arrangement together. Where two products are being compared, use equivalent operating conditions and the same requested duty.
Colour is not a reliable substitute for specification. It should not be used to identify a grade, washing instruction or temperature capability.
Distinguish media supply from filter supply
Buying a roll or sheet for conversion is different from buying a complete filter. For pre-filter media rolls and pads, specify the material requirement, thickness and cut-piece dimensions. For a finished panel, also identify the frame and sealing arrangement.
Ask for the missing details
If an old specification says only ‘synthetic’ or ‘glass fibre’, add the original label and photographs to the enquiry. Share the installation requirement with CINRIWA so that the material name is considered alongside the complete product.
