A workshop can produce sanding dust, paint overspray and vapours during different operations. Although these contaminants may appear in the same building, they do not present the same filtration task. Identifying the source is a useful first step before ordering replacement media.
Start with the operation
Record whether the filter serves a sanding station, a spray-booth exhaust or the booth’s incoming air. Dry sanding particles and airborne coating droplets have different characteristics. Paint overspray can deposit a sticky coating on the filtering structure, while dry dust may form a loose deposit.
A filter selected for incoming ventilation air should not automatically be substituted for the arrestor used in the spray exhaust. Keep the location and original function visible in the purchasing specification.
Compare arrestor constructions
CINRIWA offers fiberglass paint arrestor media, accordion paint arrestor paper and DPA paint mist arrestors. These use different physical constructions, so installation details matter alongside the application.
For fibrous media, identify the required thickness and support arrangement. For folded paper, record how it is expanded and retained. When replacing a different construction, provide photographs of the mounting arrangement rather than relying on a similar-looking front face.
Separate droplets from gases
Capturing overspray does not establish control of gaseous substances in the exhaust. Describe the coating process and supply available material information so the requirement can be reviewed. Do not assume an arrestor alone resolves every emission from painting.
Make the replacement request specific
Provide the booth or equipment reference, filter position, existing media, dimensions and quantity. Include any observed uneven loading or bypass at the edges. Replacement timing should follow the equipment requirements and operating condition rather than a universal number of spraying hours.
Contact CINRIWA with the installation photographs and media details to discuss the relevant arrestor configuration.
