Which Product Fits Your Process?
Start with the contaminant and the equipment’s filtration arrangement. Paint droplets, liquid mist and gas-phase pollutants require different treatment approaches.

| Accordion Paint Arrestor Paper | Compatible accordion-paper capture sections in coating equipment. | Supplied dimensions, installed expansion, depth, fold spacing and edge fixing. |
| DPA Paint Mist Arrestor | Dedicated dry paint overspray capture in compatible equipment. | Coating process, filter-section dimensions, airflow and mounting configuration. |
| Metal Mesh Air-Liquid Separator | Liquid-droplet separation with a suitable collection and drainage path. | Liquid type, material compatibility, airflow, mounting orientation and drainage. |
| Oil Mist Filter Elements | Matching an individual replacement element to an existing oil mist system. | Existing model, filtration stage, dimensions, seals, airflow and removal space. |
Identify the material being captured
Describe the coating, oil or other liquid carried in the airstream. Include available product information and process conditions so compatibility can be reviewed.
Match the existing filter section
Check the position in the system, support, fixing, sealing and maintenance access. Similar outside dimensions do not establish that different filter types can be interchanged.
Check airflow and maintenance
Read resistance together with operating airflow. Replacement and servicing requirements differ between disposable capture media, metal separators and oil mist elements.
Gas-liquid separation here means separating liquid droplets carried in air. It does not establish removal of solvent vapours, odours or other gas-phase pollutants.
Sizes, Installation & Supply Options
Measure the form you are replacing. Flat media, expanded paper and framed elements have different installation requirements.
Media Pads & Cut Pieces
Illustrative only · Not to scale
Provide the required length, width, thickness and quantity. Include the supported filter area and fixing arrangement. Cut-piece and other supply options are confirmed for the selected product.
Accordion Paper
Illustrative only · Not to scale
Identify the supplied dimensions and the installed expansion separately. Confirm fold spacing, installation depth and edge supports against the product and equipment instructions.
Framed Separators & Elements
Illustrative only · Not to scale
Provide actual outside width, height and depth. Also identify the sealing face, handles, retaining method and removal space. For DPA elements, send the existing dimensions or filter-section drawing.
Allow for liquid collection and drainage. For metal mesh separators, confirm the mounting orientation and drainage path with the equipment arrangement. Custom sizes and supply configurations require product-specific confirmation.
Applications in Coating & Mist Separation
Choose products for the actual capture stage and operating conditions. The equipment’s filtration sequence determines which elements are required.
Spray-Booth Exhaust & Floor Filtration
Paint overspray capture in compatible booth exhaust or supported floor-filter sections. Select the medium and configuration for the coating process and equipment design.
Explore Coating Applications →Coating Cabinets & Dry Overspray Sections
Replacement media and elements for compatible coating cabinets and dry overspray filter sections. Confirm the opening, mounting arrangement and operating airflow.
View DPA Paint Mist Arrestors →Liquid Mist Separation & Replacement Elements
Metal mesh separators and replacement oil mist elements for compatible equipment. Review the liquid type, filtration stage, drainage and sealing requirements.
View Air-Liquid Separators →Paint-particle capture and gas-phase treatment are separate requirements. These products should not be assumed to remove solvent vapours or to establish compliance for the complete exhaust system.
Paint Arrestor & Mist Separation Questions
Understand product roles, replacement requirements and the information needed for selection.
What is the difference between a paint arrestor and an air-liquid separator?
A paint arrestor is selected to capture paint overspray. An air-liquid separator is selected to separate liquid droplets carried in an airstream. Suitability depends on the product construction, material, liquid and operating conditions; these products are not interchangeable by appearance alone.
Do paint arrestors remove solvent vapours or VOCs?
The paint arrestors on this page are intended for paint-droplet or overspray-particle capture. That function does not establish removal of solvent vapours or other gas-phase pollutants. Any gas-treatment stage must be selected separately for the process requirements.
How do I choose between fiberglass media, accordion paper and DPA?
Review the coating information, equipment filter section, airflow, overspray loading and maintenance requirements. Confirm the appropriate support and mounting arrangement for each construction. There is no single material that can be declared best for every coating process. Compare the product options.
Can I replace one paint arrestor type with another?
A change of construction requires review of support, installation depth, edge sealing, resistance at operating airflow and the equipment instructions. Matching the opening dimensions alone is not enough. Send photos and the existing product information before substituting a different type.
Can these products be cleaned and reused?
Do not assume paint-loaded media or oil mist filter elements can be washed or reused. For metal mesh separators, confirm whether cleaning is permitted and which procedure is compatible with the mesh, frame and collected liquid. Follow the instructions for the supplied product; a metal construction alone does not define the cleaning method.
When should the filter be replaced or serviced?
Follow the selected product and equipment requirements, monitoring pressure drop and exhaust airflow. Inspect for damage, displacement, blockage or drainage problems. Service or replace earlier where condition or airflow requires it. One replacement interval or pressure-drop limit does not apply to every product in this range.
Are the OMF products complete oil mist collectors?
No. OMF 1-G4 and OMF 2-F9 are individually supplied replacement filter elements. Match the required model to its position in the existing equipment, and confirm dimensions, sealing, airflow and removal space. View Oil Mist Filter Elements.
What information should I send for selection or a quotation?
Send the product or existing model, dimensions, quantity, operating airflow and details of the coating or liquid. Include photos of the filter section and existing element. For metal mesh separators, also describe mounting orientation and liquid drainage. If selecting DPA, include a filter-section drawing or existing element dimensions.
